How do waste climate policies contribute to sustainable development? A case study of North Macedonia

The impact of waste policies and measures from National Determined Contributions (NDCs) on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is unexamined creates conditions for policy conflict incoherence. This participatory case study North Macedonia quantifies synergies trade-offs. Our results show twelve times more than most important concern SDG 8: Decent work economic growth (score: 10) 3: Good health well-being 5) since formalizing recycling sector expected to create jobs, productivity improve as a result increased resource efficiency in industry, declining pollution increase through adequate management landfills.
